Five Wedding Accessory trends for 2024 - from 90s inspired short veils to chokers and more

model wearing Galia Lahav feather and sequin gown with crystal encrusted Titania Choker - 2024 wedding trendphoto by Octavia Weddings

As we are just about to step into the next big Wedding Season, let's talk bridal accessory trends!! From statement chokers to 90's short veils, here are 5 accessories we should be all talking about for 2024.
CHOKERS
I have to say that I was just a little excited when I saw chokers back on the runways for our Brides. I am obsessed with chokers for weddings and I love designing and making them! This time they are big and bold jewelled chokers, pearl chokers and even 3d floral chokers are in the mix. Bold is King...or should I say Queen.

GLOVES
Making a start this year, the bridal glove trend will still be here for Brides of 2024. From your simple sheer, to full length satin, and 3d lace gloves...to even Blue! Bringing back the old money aesthetic and sophistication, you can add this to an immaculately cut gown in a beautiful simple fabric and you are on a winning look. Now, if you do choose this fashion for your big day, just be careful with your lipstick!
tulle wedding gloves available from Dion for Brides  photo by Octavia Weddings

90S INSPIRED ACCESSORIES
The 90s wedding fashion is back and so are the accessories! Let's just do it with a bit more style...can we? With bridal minis also making it back this season a modern version of the 90's puff [bubble] veil makes for a very cute accessory.  Let's get all 'November Rain' in this fashion and have some real fun. Short, full veils with bows or just short and layered. This is a fun and playful vibe for micro weddings and elopements.

November Rain - a popular scene and vibe of the 90s wedding fashion

          PEARL ACCESSORIES
Pearls are still happening for 2024. The pearl shoe addiction is still going strong, so pearl veils and pearl jewellery are continuing!! Pearls mixed with gem stones, like rose quartz, scattered pearl veils with 3d lace, pearl chokers, pearl headpieces and draping pearl jewellery on garments....it's gone a bit pearl mad!

 UNIQUE HEADBANDS

Unique statement headbands, ornate and far from subtle, these headbands are also making it's way in to the list for 2024. If not for your ceremony, consider this trend to create a second look with out changing your gown...just change your headpiece!!

If it suits your gown or you just love it, because you love it, wear it with confidence and just enjoy your day!!

Timeless Romance at Brookleigh Estate in the Valley

Have you ever been to a Swan Valley Wedding Open Day?? Every year, all of the gorgeous venues in the valley set up their reception venues, with the help of some fabulous Perth Wedding Vendors and create magical spaces for brides to help visualise their special day!!! Phew, that was a mouthful, ha, ha. We have been very lucky to be involved with Brookleigh Estate, each year for this special event.

So...how to make the best of all these fabulous flower arrangements and divine settings that they have set up for you?? Well, that is why we are very lucky to help and participate in a bridal shoot each time to showcase some of these lovely spaces!

Our very talented photographer for this shoot was Eve from Ring and Veil Wedding photography.

Let's start with getting ready!!

Perth Brides are very lucky that we have so many amazing bridal hair and make up creatives to choose from...and still for how many there are...they still, get booked up so quickly...so, get cracking...book your fave in!!!

For this shoot, we had the pleasure of working with Kirsten from Bride and Groomed and Tegan, from The Makeup Collective. Kya, was our stunning model, a Miss Universe Australia finalist for WA.

As you can see in the video above, Hair and Makeup...were on point and Kya looked so damn gorgeous....love, love!!

The first gown chosen from the highly recommended, Dion for Brides, was a deluxe, intricately beaded gown with latte lining from the Gala Collection, Galia Lahav. This is the Becca gown.

You will see through the first half of this shoot, that we have styled the same gown, with different bridal accessories showcasing how your veil, headpiece and jewellery help shape your gown into the vison and theming that you want to follow through with.

There is not just one look for each gown. It's about you, your setting and your personality!!

In this first look, We have styled a gorgeous matt gold crown with pearls, 'We are the Stars', and our best seller veil, Lola from Dreamtime. Lola is a stunner! Soft, ivory tulle, with a dainty scatter of two pearl sizes, not too many gathers, giving you a sheer, easy to wear, veil. Just to note, veils at Kezani can be customised to suit your perfectly!

In the above shot, Kya is on the stairs of the main house at Brookleigh Estate, just one of the popular spots for a smaller ceremony. There are endless ceremony locations and photo options at this beautiful, Swan Valley location.

Also, on these stairs is a stunner floral wedding arbour from Maki at Flower and Barrel.

Close ups of this look, including the striking bridal bouquet from Flower and Barrel, Perth wedding florist.

Moving to the sunken garden location, we have a white wooden arbour that is available to hire from Luke's Party Barrels and dressed with florals from Flower and Barrel.
In the shot above, we have styled Kya, in the fabulous Siam earrings. These are a stunning statement, created with matt gold leaves and freshwater coin pearls. A unique design from Stephanie Browne, available in our Kezani store in Perth or online. The Siam earrings are like a headpiece on your ears!!

Our next gown change, was a simple, strapless organza gown with a stunner full skirt with the big split in front to show off those stunning shoes you have chosen. Hopefully you have found them from our bridal neighbour at the The Wedding Hub, Georgies Bridal Shoes.
This gown style was also from Dion for Brides. Gown is the G-501 Gala Collection from Galia Lahav. This gown also has a detachable off shoulder shawl that can be worn with this.

As you can see above and below, a stunner sleek updo from Bride and Groomed, worn with our Tamara classic pearl drop earrings and in our second pic we have added the divine, Carmelina headpiece. This is a 'Limited Edition' headpiece, crafted in a soft embroidered organza floral and leafy lace. The lace has been created into a 3 dimensional, bridal lace headband and embellished with large pearls and large crystals to form a stunner statement piece.
Kya is wearing this piece with our two tier Beauty Veil, a soft, half gather, raw cut, cathedral veil

Now, let's talk about this bouquet! Delightful colour combination, with gorgeous coral pink roses and wine coloured orchids. Vibrant, fresh and a sure showpiece from Maki.

This stunner atrium can be booked for photos.

The glorious Carmelina with the Beauty Veil.

The resident dog, Zeus being fluffy and cute!!

Above, Kya is wearing our very popular and beautiful, Claudia headpiece. This is actually three pieces that lock in together, forming either a spectacular, longer hair comb, that can be worn on the side or centreback, or the pieces can be separated and scattered in the hair, or placed together in a more clustered shape. We will leave this to you and your fabulous hairdresser!!

Wish you could taste the wedding cake from Dark Cherry, Perth...she is the bomb!!! Check her here.

...and NOW, my final and MOST FAVE LOOK, with the Becca gown..our mega amazing Breeanna headpiece in gold mix with our 'dare to be different', crystal, Haley birdcage veil. It's a beautiful statement piece.
Floral styling in this magical and timeless setting, is by the talented Honey Bunch Botanicals and styled by Poppy and Posy.

So as the champagne toast in the air indicates...that's a wrap!!!

Til' next time.

With LoVe and Fun,

Anita xx

The cutest day ever at Brookleigh Estate!!

flowergirls dancing young and free“Even I never dreamed of Magic like this!” ― C.S. Lewis, The Chronicles of Narnia

A perfect day in April, three little girls woke up a little more excited than a normal day....school holidays, well that always makes you a little excited..but on top of that, they were going to be the little shining stars in a Perth wedding collaboration, Narnia- themed, flowergirl shoot. Two of these little girls, turn out to be my little nieces, which made this shoot even more fun for me too!!

Samantha Wynne, from Samantha Wynne bridal, created the concept and put together the fabulous team of Perth creatives to pull off this theme. Photography by the very talented, Shenae from Shenae Rose Stills and Motion and the stunning flowergirl dresses for this shoot were also from Samantha Wynne. The girls loved having to go for a fitting before the day.

Meet the cheeky three here and we will introduce you to one more little cutie further into this blog.

The perfect venue for this magic to happen, just had to be Brookleigh Estate. So many gorgeous spaces in this venue for any couple's dream to come true...and of course, this theme had to entail a delightful tea party!! The amazing table setting was put together by Michelle Mok creates and Side Serve Perth. Festoon lighting was from Wed Style and the stunning stationery, Jess is Jam.

Our Top 5 picks for Bridal Blogs

white magazine- kezani jewellery - Real Bride

So the day you have been dreaming about all your life has arrived and it was amazing, every thing you could have ever dreamed of. Sad news is, 10 or so hours later, its all over. For the past few months (or years) you have been living and breathing the life of a bride. Back-to-back appointments figuring out floral arrangements, food tasting, whether to have a sit-down or cocktail wedding, and let's not forget your dress, hair, makeup, shoes, and JEWELS, and all the other small things you forget about like wedding favours! (ahh don't forget those)

The fact is, after putting all your energy into planning your big day for the past few months, when it all comes to an end we're not to sure what to do with all our free time. Yes, you probably all have jobs, but for the past year you have been use to being busy 24/7! Who says it has to end... okay, that's a lie. Your big day, is now over, but, there are 3 things you will always have: Your Man (if all goes well), Your Wedding Photos, and Your Memories.

So, if you still want to feel like a bride for a bit longer, why not share your photos with all the other women out there. The team here at Kezani have done some research to provide you with a list of our picks of the TOP 5 BRIDAL BLOGS you can submit your photos to. The perfect medication for your wedding withdrawals.

1. White Magazine

White Magazine is an Australian based bridal blog and magazine that is all about the meaning of marriage. Although they are based in Australia they feature brides from all across the globe. They're also known to take the most submissions, whether you had a classic fairytale wedding or went for something a bit more boho chic, the team at 'White' are more interested in focusing on the meaning of the day, rather than just the fun of it all.

So if you're wanting to inspire someone's style whilst warming their hearts by sharing your emotional experience, make sure to give their page a visit and SHARE, share share the love.. and of course the photos.

Check out our Real Bride's, Lauren who was featured here.

2. Nouba

Second on our list is the notorious Nouba. This online blog features a variety of different weddings from all over Australia and New Zealand. If you tried submitting to bridal magazines and didn't get featured don't fret, you may have more luck with an online blog simply because websites don't have the same "space limitations" as magazines. I mean ... who can blame them, no one wants to be receiving a magazine the size of a textbook in the mail.

One thing I forgot to mention, if you're reading this and you're only engaged (and eagerly awaiting your big day that's months away) don't think we are forgetting about you. Believe me, I know that once your engaged you stalk these blogs as much as you can for inspiration, but who says you can't be the one who IS INSPIRING others ? You don't have to be hitched yet. Nouba accepts engagement shoot submissions too! (I know you're secretly jumping on the bed right now). So if you're here from Aus or are our neighbours just 'around the corner' make sure to head to their submissions page, and submit your wedding (or engagement shoot!)

3. Hooray

For some its all about the dress, for others its all about the centrepieces. If you're like me, you care about your hair and makeup than the style details (simply because I am not that great at it)..but hey, without these blogs I would have had no clue about floral arrangements, aisle runners, and whatever else I am forgetting about right now. If you have a knack for styling, don't let your big day end there. Hooray is a bridal mag that is about more than just helping a bride-to-be decide what hairstyle she wants. They're all about essential, elegant styling for all wedding types. And if you're not that creative, but you had a 'Picasso's prodigy' as a bridesmaid then submit photos of your bridal shower!

4. The Wedding Network

There's nothing better than going local. Well, that's at least what they say in all the supermarket ads (You can tell its close to lunch time because my mind is drifting to food. Actually that's all the time). Anyways ... if you're from Western Australia, The Wedding Network might be your first pick for online blog submissions. Make sure to send them a message to be in their 'Real Wedding Feature'.

5. Style Me Pretty

If you're wanting to make it big in Hollywood, head to Style Me Pretty ! Okay so, maybe I was a bit enthusiastic but whenever we all think of America our minds drift straight to Hollywood. This blog is all about the classic bride. As they say, they're all about all things pretty, in their words, "classic weddings with an extra sparkle". If that's you, make sure you enter your submission.

Share the Love!

Lastly, I have to remind you to "Share the Love". Yes, in some part, you are submitting your wedding to a blog as some sort of medication for your wedding withdrawals... but don't forget you are part of a bride tribe called "Help a sister Out" (not literally, but hey, why not if you can). Your day will not only be in your memory forever as the day you made a promise to someone special, but it can be a source of inspiration to another bride somewhere else in the world who is in the same position you were a couple of months ago (the "I-don't-have-a-clue" stage). So, share the love by submitting, and don't forget to mention all the creatives that made your day special (your vendors).

It is important to note that to submit your photos to any blog you need permission from the Photographer.

Love, Venine

Welcoming our New Team Member - ME!

welcoming our new Kezani member - Venine!

Good morning, good evening, or goodnight

From wherever you are in the world the team here at Kezani are excited to be back ! (Well technically we never left but do admit we haven't blogged in a while) You know how it gets, our customers, and brides are our priority. What's more important than your big day .... and making sure you are frosted in amazing jewellery of course. But that's enough excuses for now, the point is WE ARE BACK BABY ! Bringing you more regular blogs about all things bridal & fashion.

It is at this point in time that I realised welcoming myself is a bit of an akward scenario because I am already one whole paragraph into an conversation with you, so hi. My name is Venine and I am the newest team member here at Kezani. You may have seen me around (like on the website) because I have worked for Anita before as a model, but I couldn't just leave our catch-up's to occasional modelling gigs so i decided to stay for good, to annoy her in her office once a week (jks we are actually great friends). Anita hired me to share more about Kezani, and Real Bride experiences, all of which I am planning to do. But I am also excited to show you a bit more about her. Anita being as modest as she is, hasn't shown you HALF of what she can do yet. As you may have already discovered, she is extremely talented, but if you see what happens behind the scenes and how she creates new designs from scratch you will be even more amazed. So be prepared for 2018, and getting to know more about what Kezani LOVES but also about who we are.

 A bit about me !

I am a 20-year old journalism & broadcasting student who loves writing, talking (as you have noticed), food, and all things creative... and yes I forgot to mention I am a daydreamer and a huge optimist.

What would a 20-year old know about weddings ?

Well, lets just say I have some experience in the bridal industry. And no, I have not been on Married at First Sight - although I do love that show (don't we all). My experience in the bridal industry started with photoshoots. I have never really signed to an agency or pursued modelling as a career but I have been in more bridal shoots that I can count on both hands. The bridal industry in Perth is by far filled with the most creative, kindest people I have met. By making friends with makeup artists, jewellery designers (aka Anita) and so on. I've made friends who got me involved in the industry and I have loved every second.

So growing up as a little girl dreaming about all things wedding, I got to "play pretend" over 12 times. Who wouldn't love that ! I have to say after wearing @galialahav, @demetrios and @enzoani gowns all from Perth's @dionforbrides, I was eager to do this for real. All I needed was my Prince Charming.

Well news is, I found him, and I got MARRIED for real. After all that "pratice", the day finally came. Yes sounds crazy because I am 20, but love has no rules and doesn't always fit into our plans but I am as happy as I'll ever be. And funny thing is, I met him at my sister's wedding. So weddings are magical and no one can prove otherwise. Enough of that for now, you will have to wait until next week for my post on our #RealBrides blog about MY wedding.

Other than my soppy love for all things bridal, I am a passionate writer and am excited to be a part of the KEZANI team. Just because my big day is over, doesn't mean the fairytale has to end. I am looking forward to hearing about your BIG DAY and big events (don't forget you don't need to be a bride to spoil yourself with sparklers).

That's enough from me for now,

Love Venine

The Beauty in Nature - A Perth wedding vendor collaboration

The Beauty in Nature - a Perth wedding vendor collaboration

We are so excited to share with you a gorgeous collection of pics from a Perth collaboration organised by Jess Ames from The Blushing Bride makeup. The theme was Bohemian, set in the beautiful Bold Park/Reabold Hill coming into sunset. The park is full of little trails with plenty of Australian bush and wildflowers. Walk to the top of the hill and you can see the stunning WA coastline.

The Venine flower crown featured with Samantha Wynne wedding gown

The divine wedding gowns were from Samantha Wynne of Samantha Wynne Bridal in Mount Hawthorn, WA. This delightful design had delicate floral sprays with a deep low back neckline and we teed this look up with our new Venine floral and crystal crown for a romantic, ethereal vibe.
