Sometimes the most extraordinary pieces begin with a single, unforgettable image
When a design comes into my mind, it can emerge from the most unexpected places. I can sometimes have days - even weeks - with nothing, and then BANG, it's there, fully formed: an idea so clear and demanding that I want to drop everything and start creating.
The Santorini headpiece was born from one of those moments.
The Spark: When Art Meets Possibility
It started with a quick flash of a photograph - an editorial image where jewels were meticulously pinned all over a model's head. The gems cascaded across her entire scalp and flowed down to her ears, creating this incredible jewelled sculpture that was pure art. I was mesmerized by the beauty of it, but as a bridal designer, my mind immediately went to the practical: How can I create a wearable piece inspired by this concept?
I could picture a version in my head - something that captured that same opulent, art deco energy but translated into something a bride could not only wear but feel absolutely radiant in. The intricate patterns began forming in my mind as I started thinking about which beads would create the right impact, the right flow, the right balance of drama and wearability.
The Engineering Mind: Where Dreams Meet Reality
Once I have a project crystallized in my mind, there's usually a pause - sometimes days -before I actually start creating. This is the engineering phase, and honestly, it's just as creative as the initial spark. I need to think through the construction: How will this sit on different head shapes? How do I achieve that jewelled cap effect without creating something too heavy? How do I ensure it stays secure during a full day of celebration?
I've always had the kind of mind that might take a few days to work out the direction, but once I crack the construction puzzle, everything comes together on the first go. It's like solving a beautiful, sparkling equation.
The Art Deco Vision: Reimagined Through Wire and Wonder
The Santorini headpiece embodies everything I love about Art Deco design, but created in the distinctly Kezani way. Original jewels from this period are usually hard metal pieces—soldered, plated, with stones traditionally set in rigid mountings. But Kezani is all hand-wired, and that changes everything.
Every single bead in the Santorini is meticulously wrapped or locked into place with wire, creating an intricate web of connection that's both incredibly secure and beautifully flexible. This hand-wiring technique is what makes Kezani unique—it allows for movement and flow that hard-set pieces simply can't achieve, while maintaining that bold geometric beauty that defines Art Deco styling.
The result? All the glamorous confidence of the 1920s, but with a modern fluidity that feels as comfortable as it looks spectacular. It's Art Deco architecture rendered in precious materials, but with the organic artistry that only comes from hand-crafted wire work.

This piece sits like a jeweled cap at the front of the head, it works beautifully with sleek sides and glamorous waves - that Old Hollywood styling that never goes out of fashion.
Then the Dream Comes Alive
There's a moment in every creation process where the piece transforms from concept to reality, and suddenly you're holding something that feels almost magical.

Seeing it come to life during our photo shoots has been incredible. Each bride who wears it brings something different to the piece—some style it with dramatic updos, others with those classic finger waves, and each interpretation reveals new facets of its personality.

Each bride will make it her own, and that's exactly what I hope for with every piece I create.
The Technical Poetry
Creating the Santorini required mastering several techniques:
Pattern Engineering: Each bead placement had to work both individually and as part of the larger geometric design. One misplaced element could throw off the entire visual flow.
Weight Distribution: Achieving that jeweled cap effect while ensuring the piece remains comfortable for all-day wear required careful consideration of how weight is distributed across the head.
Flexibility Within Structure: The piece needed to maintain its dramatic silhouette while being flexible enough to work with different hairstyles and head shapes.
Why Handmade Matters
In a world of mass production, there's something deeply satisfying about creating pieces entirely by hand. Every bead placement in the Santorini was deliberate, every crystal carefully considered. You can't replicate that kind of intentionality with machine production—and brides can feel the difference.

When you're wearing something that was created specifically with love, care, and artistic vision, it changes how you feel. It becomes more than an accessory—it becomes part of your story.
