When you have a dream and a circle of Love ♥

When you have a dream...as a Bride-to-be, many have a vision of how they would like to look on their Big Day. Some, just having an overall feel in mind, and others, like our beautiful bride, Renae, have an absolute clear picture.

It was truly rewarding to help Renae, bring her wedding vision to life....and so the planning began.

Renae was ready to marry her man, Nathan, and she knew exactly in what setting she wanted to do this in!! Now, trying to bring her dream to reality...that was another feat!!! Renae was juggling looking after her two little girls, Siena and Hazel, a family business and being an on-call midwife, in addition, to planning her dream wedding and a massive house renovation....eeeek!

This Bride, certainly had her hands full!

Renae chose her beautiful gown from Grace loves Lace and her stunning wedding flowers and table decor were by Lara Rose Botanicals. A divine combination.

Stunning and unique wedding gown by Grace Loves Lace with Botanicals by Lara RoseWhen it comes to Renae's wedding accessories, Renae nearly settled for something she was not really happy with...but then she found us!! Renae booked an appointment and then made the trip from Leschenault to discuss her dream accessories. Which leads to the question we asked her on how her experience was with Kezani?

"I made a trip up to Perth from where we live in Leschenault to meet Anita at Kezani. It was like I’d made an appointment with an incredibly passionate artist who could bring to life anything that my heart desired. Anita listened to my ideas and supported me 100%. I was so happy that she seemed excited about creating something really special that symbolised who I am and what I love. We had so much fun and felt like princesses. Anita designed the most amazing head pieces for me and my little girls. I also got my ‘lotus flower petal’ veil and the lotus skirts for my little girls that I had dreamed up… they were even better than I imagined!!"

Below is a pic capturing the beautiful pieces we made for Renae and her girls including those lotus petal flowergirl skirts. The dainty head jewellery had stunning crystal pendants hanging from them including a few special Swarovski heart crystal pendants for the girls. The headchains were adjustable, which allows the girls to wear them now, or as they get older.

This special day was captured by Nat from We are all Stardust.

With Renae's veil, she had a definite vision. Renae brought in a sketch with her veil representing Lotus petals finishing at all different lengths. We had this veil cut from glimmer tulle and added little golden pear crystal drops on the ends of all the petals. It was a stunner!!

The delightful, lotus veil on our gorgeous bride RenaeRenae and Nathan's wedding ceremony had a truly memorable touch for the two of them, with their 'Circle of Love'. The couple sent a river stone with every wedding invitation for their guests to write a little message on them. Each stone was placed in an unbroken circle around their decking and Nathan and Renae were married within their 'Circle of L♥ve'.

Here, we go back a few special moments, as one of the questions we asked Renae was "What was her favourite part of her day?"

"I was so surprised at how much love and ‘oxytocin’ [midwife terms] I felt on the day.
My favourite part of the day was seeing Nathan standing in the middle of our deck all dressed up, with tears in his eyes and the biggest smile on his face when he saw our daughters, Siena and Hazel walk towards him… and then his smile got bigger and the tears flowed even more when he saw me. It was perfect!"

[Make sure you scroll to the end of this blog to see Renae's tip to future brides too]

...and there you have it...hitched!! Just the way they wanted to..♥

Now, we have one more part of this pretty love story, our gorgeous midwife, Renae with hubbie, Nathan, now have another little addition to the Binet Clan. Introducing beautiful April, in this precious Motherhood shoot by Tamara from Ashbrook Imagery. Renae got to wear her head jewellery again and dress up little April in the girl's jewellery. LOVE!!!

To finish this wonderful capture we asked Renae, "what is the one piece of advice you could offer to future brides?"

"Your wedding day is the one day that you can truly express who you are and what you love! My one piece of advice to future brides is to surround yourself with people and vendors who understand and support you so you can truly follow your heart when it comes to planning your special day. Let the magic of who you are individually and who you are as a couple come to life as you plan your unique wedding. Afterall, as you embark into married life together your wedding day remains as a beautiful reminder of what you love so much about each other and your relationship."

Well said, Renae!! We hope you have enjoyed this beautiful story...till the next one...

With Love and Fun,

Anita xx

True Romance - MY Big Day

Real Bride - Swan Valley Wedding - brookleigh estate - Venine and Dylan

The day was magical from the moment the sun rose. In the middle of a 40 degree summer, this day boasted perfect weather with a sunny, yet shaded, 27 degree day. The estate smelt of sweet aroma from the beautiful rose garden accompanied by the sound of horses trotting around. The day was beautiful, a true fairytale. And the best of all is ... it was my fairytale, my BIG-DAY!

I am excited to share some of my favourite memories from what was the probably best day of my life. Actually that's a lie ... everyday is the best day of your life if you've found THE ONE, and I'm hoping those of you who are reading this have been lucky enough to find your Prince Charming. And if you haven't, don't worry, life tends to send love at the most unexpected times. And in my case, life decided to send me love on the day of my sister's wedding, exactly one year before my wedding. Long story short, I ended up marrying my brother-in-law's cousin. (No, its not incest ... everyone asks that). And I have never been happier.

Anyways, this blog is the start of many more 'Real Bride' blog posts. Where we will be sharing photos on some of the most special moments of a real bride's big day (it could be you). And let's not forget the team of vendors that made it all possible.

Anyways, back to my wedding.

When I first got engaged I had NO IDEA what kind of wedding I wanted. Not because I never thought about it (because believe me, I did), but because I just LOVED too many things.

If you ask anyone that knows me they will quickly point out the fact that I am the most indecisive person to walk this earth, or at least in Perth.  (See what I did there ... maybe I should have become a poet). My point is I thought making choices for my wedding would be impossible, but honestly it was so easy. It was almost unbelievable how easy it was.

Starting with the venue. The first day I went looking for venues in the beautiful Swan Valley, the first place I stumbled across was Brookleigh Estate: an equestrian estate that has it all. I booked Brookleigh as my venue that same day. Crazy I know. But after one look I imagined my fairytale wedding. The estate is a perfect combination of a rustic, yet royal venue with the castle-like chateau boasting beautiful arches and walls covered in foliage. Just a few steps down an old wooden bridge and you're right next to the Lakeside, surrounded by a stable on either side, and newly renovated lakeside gazebo. Choosing the venue was the easiest decision, but actually deciding which location on the estate I wanted to get married at, was the hard part.

After seeing the reflection of the warm oranges as the sun set over the lake, we decided to have our ceremony at the Lakeside Gazebo, with the Chateau in close range as we looked up the hill, past the wooden bridge, to where we held our outdoor, cocktail style reception.  The Lakeside view @Brookleigh Estate

Enough for now about how the venue, you're probably dying to see how the bridal party (and maybe the bride and groom) looked.

Most brides always start with the dress. They plan their whole 'look' around what they are wearing. But after having worn some of the most beautiful, bedazzled, couture gowns I realised that all I wanted for my day was to look like myself. An enhanced version of myself of course. Who doesn't want a little make-up and bling on their big day.

Ultimately the look I was going for was classic, clean, and natural with a little bit of sparkle.

Speaking of sparkle ...the moment I got engaged I remember contacting Anita saying that I wanted custom-made Kezani jewellery along with make-up and hair that was flawless and done to perfection, and then find a dress.

After trying on the whole store, here at Kezani, I went back to my 'indecisive nature' of not being able to chose between a choker or back jewellery. So being the creative genius that she is, Anita combined the two things I loved into one piece. A simple chain choker with a rose gold flower feature hanging down my back.

Rose gold wedding jewellery - rustic - Perth waThe name of this unique creation was definitely fitting to the occasion. The 'Be-Leaf' in me necklace was raved about all throughout the day with all my guest commenting on its unique nature. The rose gold fit perfectly with the rustic surrounds of the Estate. The necklace was accompanied by simple rose gold diamond studs and the Baby Jessica hair comb, made up of an array of small rose gold painted leaves, pink pearls, and crystals.  Choosing my dress was based around the desire to show off some back jewellery. This wasn't hard to find because I had put down a deposit for my dress after my first visit to Collezione Bridal.  Yes ! it was that easy. I walked in, my sister pointed out the dress, I tried it on and fell in love. Who said falling in love isn't easy ?

Wedding Photos by Bronnie Joel Photography featuring back jewellery
I'm starting to think that I've found my real career calling ... giving talks about the idea of 'love-at-first-sight'. Meeting my husband was a moment of 'love-at-first-sight' and so was picking my wedding dress. Okey, you're right. Maybe two instances doesn't make me an expert but I've heard stories of brides trying on every dress in every store in town... so in my case, I consider myself lucky.
Taking a moment to reflect back on 'being lucky' and the realisation that my wedding was more than just an event I had to plan. It was a commitment I made to love someone forever, a commitment I made in front of family and friends (and did I mention a 12-man bridal party).
This brings me to my beautiful bridesmaids. I was very lucky to have such an amazing bride tribe (literally a tribe), filled with some of my closest friends and family members. They had spoiled me so much over the 6-month period I spent planning that I wanted to get them something special to remind them of this journey together. After hours on end consulting with my advisor (Google) I felt helpless. It was only weeks before the big-day when I went to do a jewellery fitting at Kezani and Anita asked "So what jewellery will the bridesmaids be wearing ?". Which I totally forgot about ... to be completely honest. But all is well when you're in a store filled with pretty things almost all girls would love.
Anita designed the most beautiful 'dual-purpose' earrings that could be worn three-ways and tied in perfectly with my wedding jewellery.

Moving on to the rest of the #dreamteam, I was lucky enough to have the best-in-the-bizz when it comes to Perth hair and makeup artists.
Although I kept saying I cared most about my hair and makeup, I actually had NO IDEA of what I wanted my makeup to look like for the big day. After having my makeup done several times by the lovely Cat, from Cat Elizabeth Artistry, as well as having a bridal trial, my phone was filled with so many photos of her flawless creations that I just couldn't settle on 'the look' I wanted. On the day of my wedding, Cat and I agreed to go for a 'less is more' look and I let her take the reigns with everything else. Yes this can be risky ... and I am not saying all brides should just let their makeup artist do whatever they want, but if you ever did, Cat  should be your go-to 'Makeup Magician'... seriously ! She not only delivered, but went above and beyond.
Leading up to the wedding all the stress and sleepless nights started showing on my skin... and let's be real, the last thing any bride wants is to break out leading up to her special day. Cat went over and above to prep my skin with more masks, moisturisers, and primers than you can count on one hand. And boy it made a difference ! I felt like myself ... I wasn't hiding behind a mask of makeup. It was very important to me that my husband Dylan see's me as I am when saying his vows. Choosing to take the 'real' me ... only a slightly enhanced (with better looking skin and longer lashes) than me.

For my hair I chose to go for a classic soft curl which the girls from The Pretty Parlour executed beautifully.

So here's a confession... Although I claim to love all things bridal, my one philosophy for my own wedding was 'A non-weddingy-wedding'. Yes that makes no sense, and yes 'weddingy' isn't really a word but it is now for the purpose of this explanation. After we got engaged, my husband and I decided that we would have a small wedding with a maximum of 50 people. The reason for this was we wanted to get married in a small intimate setting with family only. And that way we could save up a bit more money to have a good start in life together. Now, with almost all 50 guests being family, we somehow ended up with a 12 man (and woman) bridal party... which I have never regretted a day in my life.
But imagine 12 out of 50 people dressing the same. It would look like we were some sort of clan, or gang, and I didn't want that. I just imagined the stress of having to pick hairstyles that suited short, long, or curly hair. My solution to this was having my bridesmaids all pick their own hair and makeup, and it looked fantastic.
The reason I am mentioning this is because I know how much a bride can stress about the right, dress, colours, hairstyles and makeup. But ultimately, if you have a great team of creatives looking after you and your #bridetribe then you know everyone will look flawless. And so, they all got to be spoilt for a day choosing whatever their heart desired, and I got to have a bridal party that was unique, different and 'non-weddingy' as I would say.

Continuing to rant on about my love of organised disorganisation, brings me to the beautiful blooms by Rose and Bud. Each bouquets was unique, with a combination of burgundy, deep pink, and cream florals. Rose and Bud had outdone themselves with the bridal flowers living up to high standards, especially being surrounded by the rose garden from the beautiful venue.

And here it is, the end of what was a short summary of my wedding day. I know it hardly seems short at all, but when you're writing about your own wedding, somehow hours fly by trying to choose the right photo only to find yourself looking through memories of your day and shedding a little tear in realisation that it is a now over. But it is the actual day that is over, not the experience. With marriage comes a whole new beginning. The next chapter in life of love, adventures, and many laughs together.
I hope you enjoyed getting an insight into my day and all the hard-working, insanely creative, people that made it possible. A truly romantic dream wedding, MY DREAM WEDDING.
It is genuinely true when people say a 'photo says a thousand words'. In writing this blog I got to re-live many of they beautiful, emotional, moments that I cherish so dearly.
And on a closing note I would like to mention the very talented photographer, Bronnie Joel, who I had mentioned early on but would like to add to. I have worked with many photographer's in my time as a bridal model, but I have to say that Bronnie has a special ability to capture the rare, 'in-the-moment' experiences of the day that most tend to miss.
Here are a few more photo's as a showcase.

Magic in Bali - Kezani Real Weddings - Renee and Mason

How lucky was this?! Renee and Mason were destined for Bali after winning a door prize with a Perth Bridal Expo. The prize, a styled wedding and honeymoon package from Botanica Weddings and the Royal Pita Maha Resort in Bali.

The landscape at this Ubud venue was truly magical, I just had to share with you just a few of their gorgeous pics. Our Candiece headpiece sat real pretty in Renee's gorgeous side upstyle. We chose this piece to complement the waist detailing on her divine wedding gown from Raffinato Bridal in Perth.

Ciao for now xx

dare to be different - Kezani Real Weddings - Allison and Brent

I adore this shot and I love, love Allison's shoes from Marie Claire in Claremont.

This gorgeous wedding of Allison and Brent was just filled with unique design touches. Allison, works in the fashion industry and had designed many elements herself, including her headpiece!

Allison came into the Kezani store with a picture and sketch of what she wanted. A unique, cage veil finished with a brooch piece on either side. To create this shape, I wired a frame to attach the netting. The net was then embellished with small Swarovski crystals and wa-lah a masterpiece was born! I so excited to see Allison's photos to see how it all came together.

Our stunning bride, this pic shows off the headpiece beautifully.

Allison's gown was designed by herself and made by her Aunty. Bodice is detailed with raw chiffon, wispy flowers and delicate beading, full open back and beaded straps.

Hair and make up was by Joanne Banks at HairArt Studio - The Vines. The hairstyle was quite intricate with loops and braids.

Allison's bouquets were by Brooch Beautiful in the USA.

You can find some amazing touches for weddings if you search high and low! These divine lapel pins were from Etsy, Didi art corner. I love how the colours are intricately entwined and I think they are a fantastic alternative to fresh flowers.

The bridesmaids wore a teal gown with a stunning tulle cape shoulder line detailed with crystal embellishment. The pop of coral contrast in the flowers worked a treat!

Brent walking Allison down the aisle

We asked Allison what her favourite part of the day was?

"My favourite part of the day was walking down the aisle and seeing Brent for the first time and him seeing me. Brent met me at the top of the red (cream) carpet and we walked down to the celebrant together"

 The happy couple

love this pic - too cute!

Finally, we asked Allison what her one piece of advice would be to help new brides-to-be? "My advice would be, to enjoy every moment, from planning to the end of your day. You blink and it's gone, and you can never get it back. Only memories and re-looking at photos, I wish I could do it all over again!"

Hope you enjoyed this wedding and gained a few tips!

Bali Heaven - Kezani Real Weddings - Nathalia and Paul

I was so delighted to help to Nathalia find her dream accessories for her wedding in Bali to her man, Paul. Nathalia made an appointment to see us with her wedding gown and then the fun began!

Nathalia was just beautiful, her bright and happy personality just filled the room and her gown was absolutely stunning. Exquisite detailing with shoulder and back drapes made with crystal and silver bugles. This divine gown was a creation from Jack Sullivan Bridal and is available from the gorgeous store in Perth, Bridal by Aubrey Rose located on Oxford Street, West Leederville.

With Nathalia's wedding being in Bali, we thought we have to ask her about her suppliers so we can help any future brides, looking to plan a destination wedding over there. Nathalia's hair and makeup was done by Eka RadityaPoetra from SHOPisticated Bali. Her custom made brooch wedding bouquet was by Sharon from Cherished Bridal Designs.

Love these pics capturing the happy couple.

To make things easier, Nathalia had a wedding planner, Christina from Vara weddings. As quoted from Nathalia, " went above and beyond and made all my requests a reality. Our dream wedding would not have come true without her and all our 11pm emails!".

The divine wedding cake was from Ixora Cakes in Bali.

Dancing under lanterns and stars, what more can you ask for??!! A gorgeous reception at Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali resort - this is an absolutely stunning venue.

Coming to an end, I am going to finish with one of my fave photos. I just love the setting, the backdrop of green grass, the water and the sky, it just looks fantastic. You can see Tanah Lot in the distance, I think this definitely looks like 'Bali heaven'.

I asked Nathalia, what was her fave moment of the day and it was in this same scene..."Seeing my husband Paul overcome with tears of Joy as I came walking down the aisle. It was such an emotional and happy moment."

Lastly, we have a piece of advice from Nathalia to help any future 'brides-to-be'.

"Try not to stress, even when it seems impossible. Enjoy the entire planning period, because when it's all over, you'll miss it and want to do it all over again! Remember why you are getting married, and try to truly make it be an event about the both of you. Have faith in your vendors and photographer, and trust that they will do their job well, embrace the minor hiccups that may happen on the day! And once it's all happening, just go with it, the day literally flies by in the blink of an eye."

'Vintage romance' - Kezani real weddings - Natalie and Ben

Looking through Natalie and Ben's wedding pics, I couldn't help but feel like I was getting a sneak peek into a vintage romance novel.
A 'rustic chic' wedding with a touch of quirky! The setting, Boomerang Park in Mudgeeraba, Queensland with stunning landscapes and a 100 year old barn.
Stunning natural landscape makes the perfect backdrop

Natalie chose a divine gown in champagne/vintage gold from Samantha Wynne in Mount Hawthorn, WA. The gown was designed and created by Wendy Makin bridal designs. A beautiful lace sheath with exquisite, soft ruffled hemline.

Hair and make up by Erin Galliene.
Natalie chose the wedding headpiece, Grace and earrings from our Stephanie Browne collection. We then created a wide, straight style, cage veil made to match.
To tie in with the pale, vintage gold colour of her gown, we chose to go with the Swarovski crystal colour, 'golden shadow' with rhodium plating.
I adore this shot showcasing the bride and bridesmaid gowns. The colours, shape and neckline complement perfectly.
Bridesmaid gowns are by Asos.
The amazing, proteas and natural foliage bouquets were by Julia Rose florist.
Ben and the groomsmen all wear Mr Men socks.
Natalie is wearing the 'Grace' bridal headpiece with the 'Charleston' earrings by Stephanie Browne - available at Kezani jewellery.
A totally stunning pic of Nat.
Too cute...the gorgeous couple.
The rustic barn, a magnificent setting with lots of personal touches.
The tables were decorated with olive leaf runners from Julia Rose florist
The wedding cake displayed on tree slabs was a delicious naked cake, vanilla bean cream with berries and drizzled toffee...sounds yum!
"For our 'photo session' Ben and I disappeared to a little field where we sat and had a private little picnic. This was definitely one of our favourite parts of the day as we got to sit quietly and enjoy each others company, talk about how we felt, about the ceremony, share a glass of wine and a laugh."
A little piece of advice for 'Brides-to-be' from Natalie
"don't sweat the small things. The personal moments in your day will be cherished by yourself and your guests far more then the 'professional' ones."
With love and fun,
Anita xx
