About Kezani: Where Romance Meets Artistry
The Heart Behind the Headpieces
Anita is a true romantic at heart with a lifelong love for weddings, designing, and creating beautiful things. She's been married to her man for over 30 years and is a proud Mumma to one very cheeky Irish red setter who definitely thinks he's the real boss of the studio.
But it's her unexpected journey into bridal accessories that makes the Kezani story so special.
The Moment Everything Changed
Back in 2000, Anita was managing a high fashion bridal store in Western Australia, completely unaware that her career was about to take the most exciting turn. The WA Fashion Designer Awards were approaching, and Anita decided to enter—spending three months meticulously creating an intricately wired and jewelled bodice with her friend and colleague, Kellie Domenech.
The piece was stunning: hand-crafted over a divine lilac satin wedding gown, it became a finalist in the Contemporary Bride section. But it was that final strut down the catwalk that changed everything.
"I looked at this amazing bodice and said to myself, 'I can make jewellery!' I had no idea!" Anita recalls with a laugh.
From Wire to Wonder
That lightbulb moment launched what would become over two decades of creating distinctive bridal accessories. Starting with nothing but straight wire and beautiful bead combinations, Anita developed her signature hand-wiring technique that makes each Kezani piece move, flow, and catch light in ways that traditional metalwork simply can't achieve.
Her nineteen years of working directly with brides and their wedding gowns gave her an incredible insight into what modern brides actually need—pieces that are as comfortable as they are stunning, as wearable as they are statement-making.
Building the Dream
Anita opened her first Kezani boutique on the Gold Coast in 2007, where she expanded the label while also working as a fashion stylist for several Queensland bridal magazines. Those editorial shoots taught her the art of creating pieces that photograph beautifully—knowledge that proves invaluable for today's social media-savvy brides.
Missing home (because let's be honest, WA has the best beaches), she moved back west in 2011 and established her studio in West Leederville. In 2021, Anita found her perfect creative home in a stunning Art Deco building on Northwood Street, which houses The Wedding Hub—a carefully curated collective of fabulous wedding vendors all under one beautiful roof.
It's the kind of space that inspires creativity daily, where the building's vintage architecture perfectly complements Anita's love for timeless design with modern sensibilities. Being surrounded by other passionate wedding professionals creates an energy that flows into every piece she creates.
The Kezani Philosophy
With over 20 years of bridal experience and lifelong passions for fashion and travel, Anita brings a unique perspective to the bridal industry. She's never been one to play it safe—her statement pieces push boundaries while never losing the femininity and romance that make weddings so special.
Every piece is hand-crafted in her West Australian studio, where wire becomes art and beads become heirloom accessories. It's this commitment to handmade excellence that has seen Kezani pieces worn by brides around the globe, each one carrying a little bit of Anita's artistry and passion.
Today and Tomorrow
The world of bridal fashion is constantly evolving, and Anita loves being part of that evolution. From regency-inspired crown stacks to minimalist modern pieces, from Art Deco glamour to bohemian romance—if it makes a bride feel like the most beautiful version of herself, it's worth creating.
When she's not in the studio crafting the next stunning piece, you'll find Anita walking her red setter (who definitely has opinions about which beads work best), traveling for inspiration, or dreaming up the next design that will make a bride's heart skip a beat.
